NVIDIA Middle East, in collaboration with AD Gaming and SAE Institute Dubai, has unveiled the champions of the UAE segment of the Global Game Jam 2024, hosted at the Yas Creative Hub at twofour54 in Abu Dhabi. More than 60 gaming developers from the UAE participated in this worldwide competition, where teams collaborated for 48 hours to craft games centered around the theme ‘Make Me Laugh.’ The victorious team, creators of the game ‘Crash and Cash,’ devised a unique concept where players vie to secure the most insurance money by colliding with cars.
The triumphant duo, Jeff Taylor (Game Designer) and Vishnu Raveendran (Game Developer), were awarded the grand prize of GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptops by NVIDIA Middle East. Expressing their excitement, the team remarked, “Our NVIDIA RTX GPUs played a crucial role in rapidly iterating through testing phases of ‘Crash and Cash,’ enhancing the game’s aesthetics. The seamless implementation and testing of DLSS technology significantly improved the overall look of the game. Additionally, leveraging AI for art generation proved to be a valuable asset.”
The team emphasized the significance of the Global Game Jam as a hub for like-minded individuals to convene, fostering community growth and bolstering the game development scene in the Middle East. The combined efforts of AD Gaming, SAE Institute, and NVIDIA in organizing the event were lauded for providing a comfortable space for talent showcase.
RTX Studio laptops, equipped with exclusive NVIDIA technologies, proved instrumental in aiding game development. NVIDIA Studio drivers, AI-accelerated apps on RTX GPUs, and NVIDIA Streamline facilitated accelerated workflows, enabling developers to create stunning 3D worlds with AI assistance. DLSS technology, a key feature in the winning game, ensured improved framerates for a smoother gaming experience.
