Panduit introduces the SmartZone Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) family to the EMEA region, delivering simple to install and use, highly efficient and reliable power that can integrate into Panduit’s SmartZone DCIM software and provide intelligent systems and environmental alerts, consistent power protection, and backup for critical computer ITE. The SmartZone UPS family provides superior electrical performance, intelligent battery management, and a long service life (with lithium-ion units offering 97 percent efficiency). The SmartZone UPS’s compliance with ENERGY STAR® 2.0, EMC, and safety standards ensures that it meets the ever-increasing power demands of data center, enterprise, and Edge IT equipment.
The SmartZone UPS family is designed with high reliability, power density, efficiency, and secure manageability in mind. This UPS line includes 1- 3 kVA, 5-10 kVA, and 10/15/20 kVA online double conversion units with powerful and maintenance-free batteries. All SmartZone UPS units feature a 79mm (3.5-inch) color touch screen display. The screen detects the orientation of the UPS mounting and automatically rotates to support horizontal in-rack installation or vertical tower installation.
Panduit’s SmartZone UPS, designed for critical computer environments such as data centers and the edge, provides an integrated solution with UPS connectivity, multiple external battery packs (EBP), and an external Maintenance Bypass Switch (MBS). The UPS can be configured as a 3-Phase In/3-Phase Out high-density UPS or a 3-Phase In/Single-Phase Out high-density UPS for larger systems. The units, which are digital signal processor controlled, provide superior reliability, high power efficiency, and continuous self-protection and self-diagnostics to ensure maximum system availability. The user selectable battery charging current allows the battery charging parameters to be optimized for utilisation and battery life.
Furthermore, the system offers innovative three-stage charging to extend service life and guarantee fast charging.
The UPS can be set to operate in either normal or eco mode manually. Normal mode (on-line double conversion) is the UPS unit’s default mode, and it produces a stable pure sine wave AC output while charging the battery. When in normal mode and the load is not critical, the UPS can be set to ECO mode to improve power efficiency.
The SmartZone UPS, as an intelligent UPS solution, can be integrated into common control and monitoring systems, such as the cloud-based DCIM application SmartZone Cloud. This web-based application manages, monitors, and controls energy consumption, environmental data, security components, connectivity, and information technology resources. The SmartZone Cloud application collects and processes real-time data from integrated systems and sends timely alerts to prevent potential failures for secure infrastructure monitoring. This enables risks to be efficiently reduced and costly system failures to be avoided.
