Dubai Chamber released a new episode of its En Route to the Expo video series featuring Aamer
Sheikh, President & General Manager, PepsiCo, MENA and Pakistan, who spoke about the
company’s Expo 2020 Dubai ambitions, and the significance of the mega event in tackling
sustainability issues and fostering innovation.
The series, which was created by Dubai Chamber in collaboration with Entrepreneur Middle East, features industry leaders discussing a variety of business-focused programmes, services, and experiences that Expo 2020 Dubai has to offer the private sector, governments, and individuals from all over the world.
Sheikh, who described Expo 2020 Dubai as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people from all over the world to come together, said the event gives the ideal venue for the brightest brains to find new solutions to solve critical global concerns.
“Expo 2020 Dubai is the ideal platform for people to collaborate to solve complex world issues, such as climate change, and to explore ways to achieve equal access to education, healthcare, digitalisation and sustainable food systems. Equally as important, people will come together at the Expo to have fun. PepsiCo and Expo share the vision of bringing enjoyment as well as sustainability to the event,” said Sheikh.
Sheikh discussed PepsiCo’s four-pronged strategy to the event, which includes sustainability and innovation, fun and entertainment, thought leadership, and internship, externship, and volunteer opportunities. PepsiCo will promote sustainable food-and-beverage solutions throughout Expo 2020 Dubai’s six-month run as the Official Beverage & Snack Partner.
Sheikh went on to say that his firm will leverage the strength of its brand to bring PepisCo’s unique sense of fun to the Expo, as well as showcase brand activations for attendees to enjoy. The three Expo 2020 Dubai pavilions were just revealed by the brand. Through an exciting and engaging programme of experiences, innovations, and dialogues, these pavilions will offer novel perspectives on Expo 2020’s subthemes of Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability, with one pavilion in each of the Expo 2020 DubaiThematic Districts.
PepsiCo will also take part in the Expo’s People and Planet Programme’s Theme Weeks, which will take place throughout the course of the six months of the event.
“I am particularly looking forward to partnering with the Expo on the Food, Agriculture and Livelihoods Week, where we can connect with visitors and stakeholders in addressing how to build sustainable food systems,” Sheikh noted.
As part of the Business Connect series, En Route to the Expo is now running. The video series may be viewed here, as well as on the Dubai Chamber and Entrepreneur Middle East’s websites and social media channels.
