If you could chat with an AI buddy, what would you talk about?

I would have an enlightening and elaborate chat about the most researched AI developments in the Telecom industry and the kind of discussions that it is stirring across the globe.

Do you remember the moment you realized you wanted a career in tech?

Yes, very distinctly. I was exposed to the world of technology and telecom throughout my engineering days at Telecom Paris. I also attended a few courses that talked about how the future of communication and the way we interact with each can be improved using telecom networks. That’s when I knew it was my calling.

Do you have any hilarious work stories involving tech blunders?

I don’t have a specific tech blunder to share, but I think AI still needs more of testing and field successful application to be widely adopted.

Which emerging technology trend are you most excited about right now?

Given the nature of my business, I am continually interested by how connectivity and communication are being revolutionized every single day. The development of 5G networks, in particular, keeps me interested and wondering what the future will look like.

Are you on Team iOS or Team Android?

Both have unique features and capabilities, and I’m constantly keen to try both, therefore I won’t pick teams.

How do you keep up with the latest news from the tech industry?

I prefer podcasts because they allow me to get my hands on crucial news and information and also stay up to date while multitasking or visiting with crucial partners in the region. Some events such Mobile World Congress can also be a place to learn about the most recent developments.

Care to take a wild guess: What’s the next big thing in AI?

I am excited by the opportunities of AI but it would be difficult for me to pick the next “big thing”. In my industry, we are excited about AI’s ability to allow network providers to improve their network efficiency. For example, with AI, operators can pinpoint any potential network issues or areas of concerns in the event of a spike in bandwidth demand.

Will self-driving cars be a reality in a decade – yes or no?

There is a good chance that self-driving cars could be one of the next big things. We are seeing a lot of progress, but a decade seems a little ambitious for a wide adoption.

What was your first-ever cellphone like?

My first cellophone was 2G Nokia 82xx. I never owned any other phone other than Nokia before smart phones came into existence.

Name that one social media platform you love immersing yourself in!

I prefer LinkedIn because it is more business-focused and allows me to stay connected with colleagues while also keeping up with industry news.
