ROG has launched Zephyrus S17 premium gaming laptop with rising keyboard. ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has unveiled the ROG Zephyrus S17, a premium gaming laptop featuring a rising optical-mechanical keyboard for improved cooling. The Zephyrus S17 provides top-tier performance for gaming and more in a small package with elegance for any occasion.
The Intel® CoreTM i9-11900H CPU and NVIDIA® GeForce RTXTM 3080 Laptop GPU are both 11th generation Intel® CoreTM processors. The keyboard raises to a 5° angle, enhancing typing comfort and allowing large vents to silently suck cool air into the laptop. These improvements, when combined with the CPU’s liquid metal thermal compound, allow customers to enjoy powerful computing in a computer that is small, silent, and cool to the touch.
A large 17-inch screen with Advanced Optimus and G-SYNC for greater frame rates, high refresh rates, dazzling colours, and superb colour accuracy deliver an immersive experience. Users may travel with high-fidelity sound thanks to a strong six-speaker system with dual force-canceling woofers. All of the acts are brought to life through the combination of visual and audio sensations.
In a chassis that is less than 20 mm thin, the ROG Zephyrus S17 presents a striking new design that mixes strong computing, quiet acoustics, and cool temps. The keyboard rises at a 5° angle as the user lifts the lid, opening large vents that improve intake airflow by 25%. Raising the keyboard lowers the warmth of its surface, keeping the user’s fingers cooler.
The S17’s thermal capacity is further bolstered by additional ROG Intelligent Cooling technologies. The new Arc Flow fans from ROG move air silently and effectively. ROG’s proprietary method efficiently diverts heat away from the Intel processor using exotic liquid metal thermal compound. To achieve next-level performance, a total of six heatpipes take heat away from the CPU, GPU, VRAM, and VRM circuitry and out of the chassis via four heatsinks with ultra-thin fins.
The Intel Core i9-11900H CPU in the top configuration runs at 4.9 GHz and uses up to 50 W of sustained power when the GPU is active and 90 W on its own, owing to ROG’s unique cooling. Its eight cores and 16 threads enable fast and efficient multitasking in gaming, streaming, and producing. With an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU based on the cutting-edge Ampere architecture, the Zephyrus S17 delivers high FPS even in the most demanding games, enabling the most realistic ray-traced graphics and powerful AI features. These enhancements allow for more lifelike images while also pushing frame rates to new levels. It also includes Resizable BAR, which allows the CPU to access all of the GPU memory at once, which can improve performance in many games.
The user is immersed in games and creative endeavours thanks to the large 17-inch screen. It’s encircled by ultra-thin bezels that thin out to 5.65 mm on the sides. In fast-moving scenarios, quick 3ms response times reduce blur. In games and media, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, along with greater contrast from Dolby Vision support, results in vibrant hues. For superb colour accuracy, all Zephyrus S17 screens are factory calibrated and PANTONE® Validated, allowing creators to fine-tune their creations with confidence.
It also has a WQHD panel with a refresh rate of 165 Hz for responsive gameplay and vivid details. This panel also includes NVIDIA Advanced Optimus technology, which combines Optimus’ battery-saving features with G-SYNCsmoothness ®’s and responsiveness. It employs a dynamic display switch to intelligently transition between the integrated and discrete GPUs, depending on the user’s needs. The display’s refresh rate synchronises with the GPU’s frame rate while using the discrete GPU, resulting in smoother, tear-free gameplay.
Six Dolby Atmos speakers add to the immersive experience. Crisp highs and clear bass are produced by two tweeters working in tandem with dual force-canceling woofers. Each woofer is made up of two speakers that are slightly offset so that their vibrations cancel each other out, reducing unwanted resonance.
Advanced Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation removes undesirable sounds from both input and output audio to improve voice chat. It can be used on any device and even adjusted per-app, allowing users to restrict noise-canceling to chat apps while keeping in-game sounds unaffected. Gamers will be able to interact more effectively with their colleagues, makers will be able to capture cleaner audio in any environment, and everyone will be able to enjoy a clear conversation.
The S17’s small form and subtle appearance make it easy to carry anywhere. Its large 90 Wh battery adds to its mobility. Users can leave the main adapter at home because USB Type-C® charging up to 100 W is supported. While a full-sized adapter is necessary for optimal performance, the laptop can function on a smaller Type-C adapter or even a portable USB power pack for everyday use. Users can manually switch between operating modes with the Zephyrus S17’s Multiwheel in the upper left corner of the keyboard deck for added agility. They have control over Operating Modes, input and output volume, keyboard backlighting, display brightness, and other features.
A USB Type-C port with DisplayPort, as well as a dedicated HDMI port, are available for individuals who need to attach another display. The SD card reader supports up to 312 MB/s transfer speeds, allowing for rapid access to photographs and videos.
