Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has just introduced its latest lineup of gaming monitors, the Odyssey OLED series, at CES® 2024 in Las Vegas, the renowned tech event hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®. These cutting-edge OLED models, comprising the Odyssey OLED G9 (Model Name: G95SD), Odyssey OLED G8 (Model Name: G80SD), and Odyssey OLED G6 (Model Name: G60SD), are designed to meet the demanding performance and visual requirements of gamers.
The Odyssey OLED G9 stands out as a 49″ curved ultra-wide gaming monitor featuring DQHD (5,120×1,440) resolution, a 32:9 aspect ratio, and various enhanced features. The Odyssey OLED G8 marks Samsung’s first flat 32-inch OLED gaming monitor, boasting 4K UHD (3,840×2,160) resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Both monitors share a 240Hz refresh rate and an impressive 0.03ms GTG response time. On the other hand, the Odyssey OLED G6 is a 27″ QHD (2,560×1,440) monitor supporting a 16:9 aspect ratio, 360Hz refresh rate, and 0.03ms GTG response time.

He emphasized how Samsung’s new OLED Odyssey gaming monitors aim to provide gamers with immersive environments and innovative technology, meeting and exceeding their evolving needs.
These monitors incorporate OLED Glare-Free technology to minimize light reflections, ensuring consistent brightness and color in various lighting conditions without requiring additional equipment. With VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 400, the monitors deliver incredible detail and vivid colors, independent of the displayed content. They also support AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro for a seamless, low-latency HDR gaming experience.
For enhanced connectivity, the monitors feature two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB hub, and a DisplayPort 1.4 input. The VESA mount compatibility and height-adjustable stand (HAS) with tilt, swivel, and pivot control points offer improved comfort and convenience.
The Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey OLED G8 introduce Multi Control, enabling seamless device connectivity for a more efficient multi-device experience. Users can easily transfer images and text between their Samsung monitor and other Samsung devices, enhancing their workflow. Additionally, these monitors include the Samsung SmartThings Hub, connecting to various IoT devices compatible with Matter and the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA) for streamlined device control.
Transitioning seamlessly from work to play, the Odyssey OLED G9 and Odyssey OLED G8 serve as all-in-one entertainment hubs. Equipped with the Samsung Smart TV platform and Samsung Gaming Hub, they provide access to streaming and cloud gaming services without the need for downloads, storage constraints, or a PC/console.
Samsung has introduced flat OLED options for the first time in the Odyssey lineup, featuring a 16:9 aspect ratio for the Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G6. The models showcase a sleek metal design, incorporating Core Lighting+ to emit ambient light from the monitor’s back, creating an immersive gaming and entertainment experience. The slim 3.9mm metal bezel, accompanied by a new slim metal stand with a tool-free assembly structure, adds to the aesthetic appeal.
With these innovations, Samsung strengthens its OLED lineup, solidifying its leadership in the gaming monitor market.
