The event was graced by Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Schneider Electric’s Global Chairman, alongside Hazza Aldajani, Head of Energy Sector at the Saudi Local Content and Government Procurement Authority.

Spanning an impressive 7,000 square meters, the flagship distribution center boasts state-of-the-art technology and software, facilitating seamless and efficient goods transportation throughout Schneider Electric’s distribution network in Saudi Arabia.

Leveraging machine learning solutions such as automatic weight control and image processing, the distribution center ensures flawless deliveries. Additionally, a digital control tower, connected to Schneider Electric’s global hubs, offers real-time logistics insights. Moreover, a virtual reality-enabled training hub has been established to enhance workplace safety, health, and productivity.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, the smart distribution center maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards single-use plastics and implements recycling initiatives for used carton boxes. Furthermore, the facility employs battery-powered material handling equipment and energy-efficient LED lighting. To manage energy consumption and reduce environmental impact, Schneider Electric will utilize its EcoStruxure software, providing real-time and actionable data.

Walid Sheta, Zone President of Schneider Electric Middle East and Africa, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s expansion in the Kingdom, stating, “Schneider Electric’s state-of-the-art distribution center in Riyadh extends our commitment to support Saudi Arabia’s remarkable industrial development and economic diversification. As we embrace an electric and connected future, we are excited about expanding our presence in the Kingdom.”

We are committed to expanding our operations, investing in local talent, and contributing to Saudi Vision 2030.”

The establishment of Schneider Electric’s distribution center showcases confidence in the Kingdom’s flourishing economy, which aspires to become a leading global logistics hub. The company firmly believes that a more electric and digital world is the key to building resilience and sustainability.

This landmark initiative aligns with Schneider Electric’s active involvement in the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program, a comprehensive blueprint aimed at transforming Saudi Arabia into a global logistics powerhouse, and supports the country’s ambitious Saudi Vision 2030.

The grand opening of the distribution center coincided with Schneider Electric’s Saudi Arabia Innovation Summit 2023, a two-day event held from June 13-14.
