Dubai student qualifies for Oxford-Princeton Essay Competition
Attaining the honor in the history category, Ms. El-Chal’s essay was about whether or not a state’s strength is a prerequisite or an obstacle for economic growth. Ms. El-Chal included several case studies from past governments as well as current global issues. Countries specifically highlighted within the essay included Lebanon, Japan, the Maldives, and Nigeria.

TiE Dubai chooses SolarGridX to represent at TYE-U competition
The Dubai chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE Dubai) has selected SolarGridX as the Middle East entry for the global TiE Young Entrepreneur (TYE-U) competition. The winner was selected from the four finalists that also included IoLetics (Obilizer), NinoPay and Dukan.

NASA Space Apps Hackathon to take place in UAE in October
NASA Space Apps Hackathon will be held on October 1st and 2nd in the United Arab Emirates, organized by Global Innovation & Entrepreneurship (GIE) in collaboration with key partners, the University of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates University. The Hackathon will take place in the following emirates: Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi, and Ajman.
