SITE, the prominent Saudi Information Technology Company owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has joined forces with Fortanix Inc., a pioneering multi-cloud data security company, to launch an innovative data security solution for the MENA region. This strategic partnership will introduce Fortanix’s industry-leading data security platform to the Saudi market, providing a first-of-its-kind offering in the region.

The collaboration between SITE and Fortanix will result in a highly secure Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) called SITE Cloud, exclusively powered by Fortanix’s confidential computing technology. This managed SaaS offering will establish a dedicated data sovereignty region in Saudi Arabia to cater to MENA clients.

The companies aim to customize various data security solutions, including multi-cloud key management, tokenization, data masking, secrets management, and Hardware Security Module (HSM)-as-a-service, all delivered through a unified platform with exceptional business agility. This tailored solution targets organizations in both the public and private sectors that handle sensitive data and face data sovereignty and regulatory compliance challenges.

Among the initial services, the partnership will roll out a service with the Google Cloud External Key Manager.

Majed Alamri, SITE’s Chief Business Solutions Officer, expressed enthusiasm for the exclusive partnership with Fortanix, emphasizing SITE’s commitment to secure-by-design principles and their belief that the joint solution will offer outstanding value to clients, further accelerating regional growth.

Faiyaz Shahpurwala, Fortanix’s Chief Product and Strategy Officer, highlighted SITE’s suitability as a strategic partner to serve customers in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. He praised their strong track record with industry-leading SaaS offerings and data security manager platforms, expressing honor in tailoring services to this critical region while complying with data sovereignty and security requirements.

Localized benefits of Fortanix’s Data Security Manager (DSM) SaaS include an end-to-end data security platform with cloud-friendly encryption, key management, and tokenization from a single integrated platform. The solution also features centralized security management with a web-based user interface, enterprise-level access, quorum-based controls, and single sign-on support. Notably, the SITE-localized technology is the first multi-cloud data security service globally certified to the rigorous FIPS 140-2 Level 3 security standards. Additionally, the SITE Cloud-localized platform runs on confidential computing hardware, offering customers the highest level of security.
