Sony unveils 2022 BRAVIA XR TV lineup

MASTER Series Z9K 8K and X95K 4K Mini LED models, MASTER Series A95K, A80K 4K OLED model, and X90K 4K LED model are among the latest BRAVIA XR television series introduced by Sony Electronics.

The XR Backlight Master Drive, which is powered by Cognitive Processor XR, precisely regulates our latest generation Mini LED backlight in the Z9K and X95K series for amazing brightness. With tremendously dazzling lights and deep blacks, as well as beautifully natural mid tones with almost no flare or halos around highlights, the dynamic range is unrivalled. Our A95revolutionary K’s OLED (QD-OLED) panel with XR Triluminos Max, which delivers our broadest colour palette and reproduces naturally stunning tones and colours, is powered by the Cognitive Processor XR. The A95K produces richer colours than ever before thanks to millions of unique, self-illuminating pixels for a totally new viewing experience.

These new developments enable us to provide the greatest and most immersive viewing experiences possible, capturing the real purpose of the artist. Viewers can enjoy our upgraded Acoustic Surface Audio+TM for OLED models and Acoustic Multi-Audio for LED models when viewing movies, with the sound precisely matching the position of the visuals on the screen for a completely immersive audio/visual experience. New elements that personalise and enhance at-home entertainment are also included in the selection. We’ve released Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode in collaboration with Netflix, which automatically changes picture processing based on ambient light, ensuring that customers’ favourite shows and flicks look exactly how the creator intended, regardless of the conditions. Furthermore, Sony’s new BRAVIA CORE Calibrated Mode adjusts the image quality on screen to better match the video creator’s original vision. All BRAVIA XR televisions released after 2022 will be labelled ‘Perfect for PlayStation®5,’ with two PS5®exclusive features: Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

This year, Sony also debuts BRAVIA CAM, a newly designed original camera gadget that detects where users are sitting and adjusts the picture and sound accordingly. It features gesture controls, video chat, and a slew of other exciting new features just waiting to be discovered.

There is a risk of increased resource and energy use as demand for even larger TV screens grows. Sony, on the other hand, is committed to sustainability from the beginning of the development process to the end of the viewing experience. Sony’s global environmental plan, “Road to Zero,” aspires to create a sustainable society by 2050 by achieving a zero environmental footprint across the life cycle of its products and business activities. With these goals in mind, our 2022 TVs feature a high recycled plastic content, thanks to Sony’s SORPLASTM technology. We’ve boosted our use of recycled material without losing design or durability, and we’ve reduced overall virgin plastic use by up to 60%, equating to nearly 140,000,000 compact discs, thanks to SORPLASTM.

XR Backlight Master Drive: Using a Sony-developed local dimming algorithm, the XR Backlight Master Drive controls thousands of small, ultra-dense Mini LEDs with absolute precision and independence, giving incredible brightness, amazing dynamic range, deep blacks, and breathtakingly natural colours.
Acoustic Surface Audio+™/Acoustic Multi-Audio™: These sophisticated capabilities ensure that sound aligns precisely with what’s on the screen for a fully immersive audio/visual experience.
360 Spatial Sound Personaliser: This technology, when used in conjunction with BRAVIA XR TVs, provides a flawlessly optimised spatial sound experience for neckband speakers such as Sony’s SRS-NS7, as well as select Sony headphones – all with minimal setup. Dedicated apps can even tailor the cinematic sound field to the user’s unique ear shape.
Elevate the Experience with Sony’s Sound Products: Sony’s new BRAVIA XR TVs work well with a variety of Sony audio equipment, including the HT-A9 Home Theater System and the HT-A7000 and HT-A5000 soundbars. 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, a new frontier of spatial sound technology, is the latest addition to models HT-A700 and HT-A5000. The technology creates several properly aligned phantom speakers for a broader and more immersive cinematic sound field by adjusting sound to the chosen viewing room. Using the Acoustic Center Sync feature, a BRAVIA XR TV plays the center channel role with the home theater system or soundbar as part of the 360 Spatial Sound Mapping setup, enabling sound to perfectly match what’s on the screen.
BRAVIA CAM: By optimising visual and sound quality, this cutting-edge technology ensures that consumers always have the greatest seat in the house. BRAVIA CAM also has gesture controls, video chat, and a variety of other exciting new features.
Ambient Optimisation Pro: Users can link their BRAVIA XR TV to BRAVIA CAM and watch TV in a whole new way. BRAVIA CAM detects where users are in the room and how far away they are from the TV, then changes the sound and visual settings to suit their needs.
It automatically organises over 700,000 movies, episodes, live TV, and other content from applications and subscriptions. Personalized suggestions make it simple to discover anything to watch, and you can save series and movies to a single Watchlist to keep track of what you’re watching. Users can even use Google Search to add items to their Watchlist from their phone or laptop.
Premium Remote: Our new premium aluminium remote is simple to use and clean, with simplified buttons and a backlight that allows users to see everything clearly even in the dark. With the Finder function, users can tell the TV to find the remote, and the remote will ring.
BRAVIA CORE: With the purchase of a BRAVIA XR TV, the BRAVIA CORE app comes pre-loaded with up to 10 movies to redeem and up to 24 months of limitless streaming. The size of TV packaging has also been decreased by around 15%, with a significant reduction in ink (by about 90%) and plastic usage (approx. 35 percent ). When viewers are no longer in front of the TV, BRAVIA CAM can detect this and dim the display to save energy.
