Meta-owned companies Facebook and Instagram are implementing new privacy features aimed at protecting teenagers to come in contact with strangers and predators.
Instagram, owned by Meta, has interactions in the form of following each other. One person can follow another person but that does not necessitate that the other person follows back unlike Facebook where interactions are based on mutual friend requests.
Instagram announced 3 new features for reels including crossposting reels to Facebook
Emplifi also analysed the efficacy of social media customer care by measuring how often brands respond to user questions in the comments (response rate), and the timeliness of their response (response time).
“Safety notices in DMs will notify young people. For example, if an adult is sending a large amount of friend or message requests to people under 18, we’ll use this tool to alert the recipients within their DMs and give them an option to end the conversation, or block, report, or restrict the adult”, Instagram announced in March 2021.
