UAEV Launches New EV Charging Tariffs and Services in 2025

UAEV, the UAE’s first government-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging network, has announced the adoption of the new EV tariffs introduced by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, effective from January 2025. This milestone initiative reflects UAEV’s commitment to improving sustainability, ensuring equitable access, and aligning with the UAE’s vision for a sustainable future.

Since the tariffs were first introduced last May, EV charging services have remained free. However, starting in January 2025, EV users will benefit from transparent and standardized pricing. The new tariff rates are set at 1.2 DHS/kWh + VAT for DC chargers and 0.70 DHS/kWh + VAT for AC chargers, ensuring fair and consistent fees while supporting the network’s operational excellence.

To enhance the EV driving experience, UAEV is launching a new mobile application that will make it easier for users to find charging stations, receive live status updates, and make simple payments. The app is designed to empower users with essential tools to navigate the growing EV network seamlessly.

In addition to the app, UAEV is opening a dedicated 24/7 call center to offer round-the-clock support, ensuring a smooth user experience at all times.

By 2030, UAEV plans to expand its network to include 1,000 strategically located chargers across urban hubs, highways, and key transit points, ensuring easy access for both inter-city and intra-city EV users.
