Ciena has promoted Joe Cumello to Senior Vice President (SVP) of Global Marketing and Communications. Joining President and CEO Gary Smith’s direct leadership team, Cumello assumes responsibility for harmonizing the company’s messaging platform.

Smith brings to ServiceNow 17 years’ experience in leadership and senior management roles in the technology industry, with a track record in leading sales, go-to-market operations and developing new markets to drive triple digit growth.

Christian Alvarez was appointed interim Head of Worldwide Partner Sales in February 2020. Since then, Alvarez has elevated Nutanix’s overall partner sales and go-to-market programs to deliver greater business outcomes for customers and partners.
