TIER has increased its fleet in Bahrain after securing an agreement with the country’s premier real estate developer, Diyar Al Muharraq, for a January launch. The expansion is in keeping with the German company’s goal of reaching a wider audience in the country and meeting demand for e-scooter services, which is precisely aligned with Diyar Al Muharraq’s goal of providing residents and visitors with a sustainable mode of transportation inside the neighbourhood. The e-scooters will be available in a variety of locations throughout the town, allowing individuals to quickly access them to help them with their first-to-last mile excursions.
TIER debuted its services in Bahrain over six months ago, and demand for shared micro-mobility services has increased since then. In the future, the German company hopes to deliver its latest generation of e-bikes to Manama in the following weeks, expanding its service to the city’s citizens even more.
The Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) has been a crucial partner in bringing the two organisations together. EDB has proven to be a wonderful pillar in TIER’s efforts to increase their footprint in the country by assisting multinational enterprises to build and grow their business in the Kingdom of Bahrain. TIER intends to invest extensively in the country’s micromobility industry in the next years, and the EDB’s funding is vital to this expansion.
Eng. Ahmed Ali Alammadi, Chief Executive Officer of, Diyar Al Muharraq stated, “At its heart, the vision of Diyar’s Master Plan embraces a commitment to create a fully-developed integrated city with a cohesive infrastructure which engenders wellness and promotes an active lifestyle in order to foster a healthy and thriving community. TIER supports this vision, wherein the e-scooters will enable all residents and visitors increased accessibility and mobility, allowing them to commute with ease.”
TIER intends to expand, so the location was carefully picked for optimal use in the near future.
TIER’s local and regional teams collaborated closely with MTT to ensure that TIER’s e-scooters are available in the most convenient locations for Bahrain residents. “We are thrilled to further extend our fleet in Bahrain, the third country we entered in the Middle East,” says Amir Melad, TIER’s General Manager for the Middle East. We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from people all throughout the country, and we’ll keep expanding the fleet to accomplish our vision and objective of launching e-bikes by 2022. Our customers will be able to use the e-bikes as an extra mode of transportation.
