The UAE Government and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) have joined forces to introduce an exciting initiative called GovTech. This collaborative effort, spearheaded by H.E. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, along with Ahmad Alkhallafi, Managing Director for UAE & Africa at HPE, aims to develop cutting-edge digital solutions specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of government entities.

The primary objective of GovTech is to enhance government operations and effectively address emerging technological challenges. To achieve this, the initiative will actively involve start-ups and business incubators in the creation of innovative solutions for government projects.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the UAE Government and HPE, the HPE Digital Life Garage and its partners will provide support to the UAE government and federal entities by assessing their technology requirements and challenges, ultimately offering them innovative solutions. This initiative will harness the expertise and resources of tech start-ups and business incubators, making significant contributions to the development of digital solutions for government services and operations.

H.E. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi expressed her enthusiasm about GovTech, describing it as a platform that facilitates cooperation between the UAE government, HPE, and some of the region’s top start-ups. Together, they will work towards creating new tech-powered government experiences. The initiative will provide federal entities with an expedited pathway to groundbreaking locally-developed tech solutions, ultimately improving the efficiency, performance, and digital competitiveness of government entities, ensuring they are well-prepared for the future.

In addition, H.E. Al Roumi emphasized that this partnership will contribute to government endeavors by designing reliable and tested digital products and services within the UAE, while also developing flexible government work models aligned with government aspirations. This will play a significant role in driving government performance and delivering world-class government services.

Ahmad Alkhallafi, Managing Director UAE & Africa at HPE, expressed his delight in collaborating with the UAE Government to support their efforts in advancing government development. HPE’s main priority has always been to help government organizations accelerate their digital transformation and tech innovation across the region. Through the GovTech initiative, they will leverage the capabilities of HPE’s Digital Life Garage, creating solutions that are pivotal for government organizations to overcome technological challenges, boost efficiency, and expedite their digital transformation journey.

The HPE Digital Life Garage in Dubai holds a special distinction as the first-of-its-kind worldwide. Its core focus areas include the Digital Innovation Exhibition, an accelerator incubator for innovation across various technologies; the Digital Life Lab, which incubates workshops to develop innovative concepts and transform them into pre-production presentations; the Digital Knowledge Centre, translating ideas into tangible outcomes that enrich people’s lives and professional experiences; and the HPE Global Network, providing access to international programs and communities while fostering collaborations between various institutional ecosystems, researchers, inventors, entrepreneurs, firms, government entities, universities, and service providers, including companies specializing in systems integration.
