Dubai – The 17th IDC Middle East CIO Summit, which recently concluded in Dubai, brought together over 1,000 IT leaders for a productive exchange of ideas and insights. Hosted at the Grand Hyatt Dubai on February 21-22, the event provided a platform for collaboration among senior business executives, IT professionals, leading technology firms, and respected industry analysts.
Under the theme ‘The Future of IT: Rethinking Digitalization for an AI Everywhere World,’ attendees engaged in discussions covering a wide range of topics, including digital resiliency, trust, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and the emergence of the intelligent enterprise. The summit featured presentations, case studies, and best-practice sessions facilitated by more than 60 IT vendors, service providers, and professional associations.
Distinguished keynote speakers, including H.E. Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti and Dr. Bushra Al Blooshi, along with renowned ethical hacker Glenn Wilkinson, shared their insights on the evolving IT landscape. Steven Frantzen, IDC’s senior vice president and regional managing director, also provided valuable perspectives on global IT trends.
A notable aspect of the summit was the ‘For the CIO, by the CIO’ panel discussions, which offered exclusive insights from over 20 regional and international industry pioneers. These discussions covered critical topics such as talent development, IT operating models, and vendor management strategies.
Reflecting on the summit’s theme, Jyoti Lalchandani, IDC’s group vice president, emphasized the importance of organizations embracing an ‘AI Everywhere’ mindset to stay competitive. Lalchandani highlighted how AI is increasingly being prioritized by governments and enterprises to drive innovation, enhance customer experiences, and improve operational efficiencies.
The summit concluded with a ceremony honoring recipients of the Foundry’s CIO50 Awards 2023, recognizing outstanding technology leaders for their innovation and resilience. These awards underscored the excellence within the enterprise landscape and celebrated visionary technology executives.
