Today in Dubai, Acer Inc. introduced its forward-thinking “Conscious Technology” vision, emphasizing a commitment to environmentally responsible technology. The company also disclosed its ongoing climate initiatives, unveiling two innovative energy storage solutions and a climate exhibition featuring cutting-edge technology and product concepts, open to the public.

As a participant in the RE100 initiative, Acer has pledged to attain 100% renewable electricity sourcing by 2035 and aims for net-zero emissions by 2050. As a major ICT player globally, Acer aims to enhance its positive environmental impact through collective efforts, with 60% of critical suppliers committing to RE100 or establishing science-based carbon reduction targets (SBT). By 2025, Acer aims to incorporate 20-30% post-consumer recycled plastic in its computers and monitors, achieving a notable 17% in 2022.

Key highlights from the event include Acer’s Vero product line crafted from a significant proportion of recycled materials, the Project Humanity initiative promoting eco-friendly actions among its global workforce, and the Earthion platform fostering collaboration among supply chain partners to address environmental challenges through innovative solutions. Earthion initiatives include reducing sea logistics emissions with biofuel and researching sustainable packaging materials with manufacturing partners.

Acer Chairman and CEO Jason Chen emphasized the urgency of adopting renewable energy to combat climate change, citing the Acer Group’s achievement of 44% renewable electricity usage in 2022. Chen outlined the key role of solar and wind power in achieving the 100% target, emphasizing the company’s commitment to circular economies and eco-friendly solutions.

In alignment with its net-zero commitment, Acer is expanding its presence in the energy storage industry, offering solutions across the supply chain. This expansion encompasses household to industrial use, manufacturing to application, and front-of to behind-the-meter solutions, contributing to the global energy transition. The company’s investment in battery cell technologies has resulted in the unveiling of new energy storage solutions.

The exhibition, titled “Conscious Technology for a Brighter Tomorrow,” is currently showcased at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai from December 7-12, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. The exhibition emphasizes Acer’s ongoing climate efforts and features products and services organized under four lifestyle concepts:
