Android 12 is ‘few weeks away’ – Google makes beta available on Pixel 5a

Google is set to release the 5th version of the Android 12 beta, stating that the entire Android 12 operating system will be released in “a few weeks.” Pixel 5A owners will be able to install the latest beta release for the first time.

The company launched the fifth beta of Android 12, which includes the Platform Stability milestone, which means that the changes affecting Android app developers have been finalized, allowing them to test their apps without fear of breaking modifications in future releases.

The company says that those who are using beta now are unlikely to notice much more of a difference because the aim of the beta is on making developers ready for the upcoming official Android 12 release rather than providing new features. Consequently, those that have gotten their hands on Google’s next phone will have the chance to view what that version is like before it arrives — and without taking any risks, because the beta has reached its “platform stability” phase.

The Pixel 5A was released in late August, but the beta wasn’t made accessible until now. Whereas the phone’s availability is limited — it’s only available in the United States and Japan — anyone who has purchased one can now try out the updated Android version before it’s officially released. Although running the beta can be an excellent opportunity to gain some hands-on experience with a new version before it goes live.

That experience could come in handy for this release. Android 12 features a new widget system, a theming system, and a new area for smart home controls and Google Pay (at least on Pixels). Though the OS is close to being released, when you’ll be able to install it is dependent on the maker of your phone if you own a Pixel 5A or one of the approved phones.

Android 12 Beta is now available for the Pixel 5a, Pixel 5a, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a (5G), Pixel 4, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, Pixel 3, and Pixel 3 XL. You may also manually install or flash the newest Android 12 Beta version on your Pixel smartphone.

The Android 12 beta is currently available on devices from a variety of manufacturers. Visit here for more instructions on how to sign up.

To enroll your Pixel in the beta, go to the Android 12 beta site. When you click “see your compatible devices,” you should then be able to discover your phone there. You may receive an alert on your phone when the software is ready to install. To manually check, go to System > System Update from your device’s settings menu. To see whether the new software is available, tap “Check for Update.”
