Dubai Chamber of Commerce has announced the launch of the Cloud Computing Business Group, connecting companies within the sector to encourage productive dialogue on ways to propel and embed cloud computing services across the various business industries in Dubai.
Commenting on the launch, Maha AlGargawi, Executive Director of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers said, “As one of the most future-ready nations in the world, a cloud-powered advanced digital infrastructure is essential to support Dubai’s goals of fully integrating digital technology into all government operations and plans.”
He added “The setting up of the cloud computing business group is a pillar of this infrastructure as it will encourage transparent conversations between its members, supporting the sector in advocating beneficial policy changes that will in turn enhance its competitiveness.”
Businesses in Dubai have been able to become more nimble, flexible, and efficient because of the adoption of cloud technologies, which has boosted the local economy’s innovation and competitiveness. As the most cloud-competitive economy in the Middle East and North Africa, the UAE has consistently outpaced 15 other nations.
Between 2022 and 2030, SMEs and start-ups in the UAE are anticipated to profit economically by a total of $17.1 billion (AED62.6 billion), which is equivalent to 2.3% of the UAE’s GDP in 2021.
The new Cloud Computing Business Group will look into promoting the development of cloud computing companies, growing Dubai’s cloud services sector in the business community worldwide. The business organisations will address policy issues about the industry, among other things, by offering a forum that encourages mutual interaction between sector stakeholders and governmental entities.
Cloud Computing Business Group will be part of Dubai Chambers’s plan to raise the number of the business group that stands for the economic sectors and activities of Dubai. They serve as trustworthy spokespeople and advocates for their particular corporate sectors and are crucial in suggesting legislative reforms that will increase a sector’s attractiveness and competitiveness while advancing global best practices and fostering economic growth. By March 2023, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce hopes to have business organisations representing 100 different economic sectors and activities.
