Delinea, a prominent provider of solutions enhancing Privileged Access Management (PAM), has recently announced the acquisition of Authomize, a trailblazer in recognizing and neutralizing identity-related threats in cloud environments. By integrating Authomize’s capabilities for ongoing discovery and visibility with Delinea’s top-tier SaaS offerings in PAM, the Delinea Platform is poised to broaden its scope for extensive privileged controls in the cloud. This merger also strengthens its role in defending against identity-based assaults, such as account takeovers, insider threats, and lateral movements. The Delinea Platform, a cloud-native system, will now offer CIEM and ITDR functionalities, deepening its commitment to expanding PAM across the modern enterprise landscape.

Recent research by Osterman shows that 80% of enterprises now employ multiple cloud services, but 76% are challenged by incomplete visibility into their access policies and applications across these platforms, escalating the risk of security breaches. CIEM enhances safeguards for SaaS applications and public cloud infrastructure by curbing the risks associated with excessively privileged cloud identities. A June 2022 report by the Identity Defined Security Alliance found that 84% of organizations had suffered an identity-related breach in the past year, with 96% believing such incidents could have been prevented or lessened by adopting identity-focused security measures. ITDR aims to identify and reduce threats across all identities, offering superior visibility and more effective remediation.

Art Gilliland, CEO at Delinea, states, “Merging Delinea and Authomize empowers our clients to identify and counteract active identity threats across various platforms, including SaaS, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure. This integration is pivotal in our ongoing mission to mitigate identity-based risks,” said Phil Calvin, Chief Product Officer at Delinea. “Our combined technologies will leverage ongoing monitoring and adapt broad privilege controls within a unified cloud-native platform, ensuring vigilant protection of identities and data.”

The inclusion of ITDR and CIEM capabilities on the Delinea Platform signifies a critical expansion in addressing contemporary PAM needs and emerging scenarios. This includes enhanced visibility of privileged access across multi-cloud environments through ongoing discovery, constant monitoring, and protection of all identities to detect and automatically counteract threats in any application or service, and streamlined security and compliance audits with automated User Access Reviews (UAR) and ready-to-use policies.
