Dell Technologies is set to unveil an extensive lineup of commercial AI laptops and mobile workstations aimed at ushering organizations and employee productivity into the AI era.

Patrick Moorhead, the founder and CEO of Moor Insights & Strategy, remarked, “The next generation of PCs is emerging amidst a crucial period, with upcoming refresh cycles and new capabilities on the PC creating the perfect storm. Dell’s range of commercial AI PCs and workstations, complemented by its ecosystem of peripherals, software, and services, presents an AI continuum tailored to enrich the user experience today and position organizations for future success.”

Sam Burd, president of Client Solutions Group at Dell Technologies, emphasized, “Every competitive company will need to integrate AI in some capacity, with AI PCs playing a central role. From handling complex AI workloads on workstations to utilizing AI-powered applications in daily tasks on laptops, the AI PC represents a significant investment that yields dividends in productivity, paving the way for a smarter, more efficient future. Dell’s advantage lies in offering a broader range of AI PCs across the commercial portfolio from day one, empowering customers to future-proof for AI today.”

AI PCs for hybrid work
Equipped with neural processing units (NPUs), AI PCs are expected to surge from nearly 50 million units in 2024 to over 167 million in 2027, constituting almost 60% of all PC shipments globally. The NPU integrates an AI acceleration engine capable of handling dedicated AI tasks, thereby freeing up the CPU and GPU for other operations. This translates to a more responsive experience, bolstering performance, security, battery life, and productivity.

Dell stands as a provider of the world’s most intelligent, manageable, and secure commercial PCs. Introducing a fresh lineup of Latitude laptops and Precision mobile workstations, Dell offers customers the widest array of commercial AI laptops and mobile workstations, spanning from entry-level to ultra-premium options. Powered by Intel Core Ultra processors featuring Intel vPro®, Dell’s commercial PCs drive AI workloads and unlock new levels of productivity and efficiency. For instance, employees can now:

  • Collaborate more effectively: Leveraging the benefits of the NPU to handle tasks like auto-framing, background blur, and eye-tracking alongside the power efficiency of Intel Core Ultra processors, workers gain up to 38% more battery life, enhancing productivity during days filled with Zoom calls.
  • Create content faster: With AI processing distributed across the CPU, GPU, and NPU, users can generate AI images over five times quicker using Stable Diffusion, a text-to-image model.
  • Work securely in a hybrid environment: More independent software vendors (ISVs) are anticipated to develop applications for AI PCs. For instance, Dell collaborates with CrowdStrike and Intel to offload security functions onto the device via the NPU, facilitating comprehensive threat detection and swift identification of malicious sites and security vulnerabilities with reduced latency compared to cloud-based solutions.
  • Maintain workflow continuity: The portfolio boasts Windows 11 and a Copilot key, streamlining task execution and workflow continuity. With a simple keystroke, users gain expedited access to their everyday AI companion.

AI-powered automated services
Building on its extensive industry experience in proactive, predictive automation, alongside expert advice and managed services, Dell introduces new Service capabilities to assist customers in:

  • Maximizing PC uptime and enhancing productivity with new self-healing capabilities through the ProSupport Suite for PCs. Leveraging Dell’s SupportAssist technology, customers can utilize telemetry and AI to address PC issues without human intervention, enabling IT to autonomously rectify issues like blue screen errors and thermal problems across their entire PC fleet.
  • Maintaining PC fleet refreshes on schedule and within budget with Dell’s managed services. When customers require new AI devices, Dell offers detailed planning, forecasting, and supply chain management to facilitate timely, targeted multi-vendor device deployments.
  • Embracing and optimizing GenAI investments with Digital Employee Experience Services for Gen AI, which equip employees with tailored tools and technology to suit their diverse roles.
