du, in collaboration with Huawei, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully implementing a high-performance 800G network, marking a world-first accomplishment. This breakthrough, achieved through the utilization of Super C+L band over OptiX OSN 9800 Kepler and M Platform, promises to revolutionize the digital landscape, particularly enhancing the user experience for high-speed 5G mobile and broadband home services.

Head of Technology Planning at du, emphasized the transformative impact of this partnership with Huawei, stating that the deployment of the high-performance 800G optical solution will unleash the full potential of fiber optics, advancing UAE’s optical network infrastructure and positioning it as a regional technology innovation hub.

The collaboration between du and Huawei has demonstrated the capability of high-performance 800G transmission across a span of 1400km in the Super C+L band system. This advancement facilitates seamless connectivity between data centers, addressing the escalating demands for data traffic. Moreover, the successful trial has validated the full capacity and energy-saving features of the Kepler platform, setting a precedent for sustainable connectivity necessary for emerging services.

Victor Zhou, President of Huawei’s optical transmission domain, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration with du, highlighting Huawei’s commitment to supporting du in providing premium services to its customers. Huawei remains dedicated to investing in optical solutions and driving innovation to ensure the success of its partners.

The high-performance 800G solution boasts advanced features such as a built-in high-baud rate bandwidth modulator and PBC non-linear compensation algorithm, extending transmission distances by 20% and significantly enhancing data transmission efficiency. Additionally, the Innovated Super C+L solution covers an impressive 12THz spectrum, capable of transmitting up to 96Tbps per fiber, unlocking the full potential of fiber optics technology.

OptiX Kepler, as the industry’s first next-generation OTN platform, achieves over 100 Tbps of capacity in a single subrack through its innovative dual 3D orthogonal architecture. Moreover, the platform incorporates cutting-edge heat dissipation technologies, including intelligent Hato fans and thermal-conductive materials, contributing to a greener network infrastructure with reduced power consumption.
