Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026 will kick off today. The event is widely reported as the world’s largest gathering dedicated to shaping the content creator economy.

The three-day summit is organised by the UAE Government Media Office. It is being hosted across Emirates Towers, DIFC and the Museum of the Future in Dubai. This year’s theme is “Content for Good.”

Building on previous editions, organisers announced that attendance is expected to exceed 30,000. More than 15,000 leading Arab and global content creators and influencers are set to participate.

In addition, the summit will host over 500 speakers. These speakers collectively reach an audience of 3.5 billion followers. The programme also includes more than 150 CEOs and global experts, providing a platform to exchange insights and address challenges in digital media.

The 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026 features more than 580 sessions. These include keynotes, roundtables, fireside chats, workshops and debates. Sessions are structured around three tracks: Economy, Content and Technology.

Experts from global and regional technology firms, digital platforms and social media companies are taking part. They will discuss trends in digital media, investment, business growth and content creation.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, stated that the summit highlights the UAE’s position as a global hub for the content industry. He noted that the event has redefined how digital media can serve communities under the “Content for Good” vision.

He added that the summit continues to strengthen the UAE’s creative ecosystem. According to Al Gergawi, it attracts innovators and supports the launch and scaling of media and technology-driven ventures.

The fourth edition focuses on two main pillars. The first centres on shifting from content creation to impact creation. As part of this, the summit and MrBeast announced the launch of the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign, supported by MBRGI and the Varkey Foundation.

During the summit, MrBeast is expected to reveal the names of ten creators selected to lead the global initiative. The summit also announced the world’s first Educators Award, launched in partnership with TikTok to promote edutainment content.

The second pillar focuses on integrating AI tools into content creation. In this context, the summit revealed the AI Film Award, launched with Google Gemini, offering a $1 million grand prize. Over 30,000 participants from 116 countries have already applied.

Key initiatives highlighted at the summit include:

  • The AI Film Award powered by Google Gemini
  • The Creators Ventures Accelerator offering up to AED 50 million in support
  • Strategic partnerships with YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, X and Meta

Day three will also reveal the winners of the Creators Ventures Accelerator. The programme, organised by Creators HQ with 500 Global, received 1,131 applications from over 70 countries.

The 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026 brings together major social media platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, Meta, Snapchat, X, Disney+ and Twitch. Discussions will focus on AI, analytics, intellectual property, misinformation and community building.

High-profile sessions will feature MrBeast, Will Smith, Lara Trump, Mohamed Alabbar, Rio Ferdinand and Simon Squibb. Organisers reported that these sessions aim to explore how technology and digital platforms are reshaping the future of the creator economy.
