Sandisk SSD WD Blue SN5100 Launches with Faster Speeds

Sandisk has announced the launch of the Sandisk SSD WD Blue® SN5100 NVMe™. The drive is designed for creators and professionals aiming to accelerate AI-enabled workflows and content creation projects.

The new PCIe® Gen 4.0 SSD delivers speeds nearly 30% faster than the previous generation. It enables smooth editing, rendering, and file transfers for high-resolution videos, images, and other large assets.

The WD Blue SN5100 NVMe SSD is powered by SANDISK® BiCS8 QLC NAND technology. It makes working with 4K and 8K video as well as massive project folders effortless. Professionals can upgrade their systems or build new workstations with confidence, backed by a 5-year limited warranty.

Key highlights revealed by Sandisk include:

Up to 7,100 MB/s read speeds (1TB–2TB models) with BiCS8 QLC 3D NAND and CMOS Bonded to Array (CBA) technology.
Faster application responsiveness and quick copying of large files with SANDISK nCache™ 4.0 technology.
Storage capacities of 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB, shipping in October.

The company also reported that the WD Blue SN5100 will feature Sandisk’s new logo and refreshed branding. The SSD with PCIe® Gen 4.0 will be available in the Middle East starting October.
