Egypt has announced major progress in artificial intelligence as part of its National Artificial Intelligence Strategy with the launch of Ai Everything Middle East & Africa, set for 10–12 February 2026 in Cairo. The country is accelerating AI leadership across Africa and beyond, backed by a national roadmap for AI-driven transformation.

According to the 2024 GBS World Competitiveness Index, Egypt is ranked among the top 10 countries worldwide in AI and Machine Learning. It is the only African nation to reach this tier.

The momentum now converges on a global platform with the launch of Ai Everything Middle East & Africa. The event, organized by GITEX GLOBAL, will be held from 10–12 February 2026 in Cairo. Officials revealed it is positioned as the most influential AI tech week for the Middle East and Africa.

Hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the event will bring together AI enterprises, startups, thought leaders, and decision-makers from more than 60 countries.

The conference will highlight AI applications and frontier technologies in key areas:

  • Outsourcing and shared services
  • Semiconductor design and cybersecurity
  • Cloud, manufacturing, fintech, digital health, energy, education, and public services

Egypt reported that hosting Ai Everything MEA reinforces its role as a regional hub for AI collaboration, aligning global expertise with national priorities to accelerate deployment. Backed by strategic digital investments, the country continues to expand its digital economy and attract deep-tech investment.

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated that Egypt is determined to not only adapt to AI advances but to shape them. He noted that the strategy aims to position Egypt as a leader in responsible AI adoption, policy innovation, and inclusive digital growth.

Eng. Ahmed El Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, revealed that the launch of Ai Everything MEA is a milestone in placing Egypt at the center of the global AI dialogue. He emphasized its role in attracting investment, empowering startups, and scaling technology from the region to the world.

Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre, global organizer of GITEX, added that AI is redefining competitiveness. She highlighted Egypt’s commitment to harnessing this technology for economic growth and social development.

The event will begin with a high-level summit and a two-day immersive exhibition designed to boost AI research, industry applications, startup scaling, and global investment. Companies including Atos, Cyshield, HPE, and IBM are expected to participate.

More than 200 venture capitalists managing over US$1 trillion in assets are projected to explore opportunities in Egypt and the wider region. Organizers also announced the launch of one of the region’s largest youth-tech academies, set to train young talent and support Egypt’s 750,000 annual graduates.

Egypt has revealed its ambition to cement AI leadership and serve as a vital hub for innovation across the Middle East and Africa.
