Canon EMEA, Europe, Middle East and Africa, President and CEO, Shinichi ‘Sam’ Yoshida, has completed his first official visit to the company’s regional headquarters in Dubai since assuming leadership in March 2025. The visit was announced as a milestone, underscoring Canon’s long-term commitment to the Middle East, Africa and Türkiye, described as one of its fastest-growing markets.

Canon revealed that it projects double-digit growth in the Middle East, Türkiye, and Central and North Africa for 2025. This is supported by expansion across both consumer and business segments. These forecasts align with regional economic growth expectations of 3.5% for the Middle East, 3% for Türkiye, and over 4% in Africa.

“The Middle East, Türkiye, and Africa represent one of the most exciting growth frontiers for Canon,” Yoshida reported. He highlighted the region’s rapid digital transformation, creator economy, and smart city initiatives, which align with Canon’s strengths in imaging and innovation.

The company invests heavily in research and development, allocating over 8% of global sales. This effort has yielded more than 3,000 US patents annually. Yoshida emphasized that his visit was about listening, engaging, and reinforcing Canon’s commitment to customers, partners, and employees.

During the regional tour, he met with customers, partners, and more than 500 employees physically and remotely. Canon confirmed his focus on two-way communication and customer-centric leadership. Yoshida explored growth opportunities in healthcare imaging, commercial printing, digital entertainment, broadcasting, and security solutions.

Canon also reported progress on sustainability and community development, guided by its Kyosei philosophy. These initiatives extend beyond business practices and aim to contribute to the well-being of communities.
