H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, witnessed the launch of the first trial flight of a flying vehicle by China’s XPENG AEROHT in the emirate.

The demonstration took place at Al Jazirah Aviation Club in the presence of Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE, along with several sheikhs and senior officials. Officials reported that this milestone marks a pioneering step toward shaping the future of smart and sustainable mobility in the UAE.

Sheikh Saud announced that the trial reflects the UAE’s vision of building a future founded on innovation and sustainability. He affirmed that it also embodies Ras Al Khaimah’s commitment to adopting global technological solutions with international companies, strengthening its position as a destination for living, investment, and tourism.

He revealed that Ras Al Khaimah seeks to turn unconventional ideas into achievements that support a modern, sustainable urban environment. The flying vehicle trial represents progress in developing eco-friendly transportation solutions that enhance quality of life and diversify the economy.

The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah emphasized that building sustainable cities and smarter transport is a global challenge. He said the vehicle launch is not only a technical achievement but also a step toward shaping a better future.

In addition, Sheikh Saud witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the RAK Transport Authority and XPENG AEROHT, based in Guangzhou, China. The agreement focuses on developing flying vehicle technologies in the emirate for tourism, leisure, and rescue operations.
