LG Electronics (LG) has announced the launch of its new 31.5-inch 4K surgical monitor, model 32HS710S. The monitor is designed to streamline surgical workflow and enhance operational efficiency. It combines crisp 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160) with intelligent features that prioritize convenience for medical professionals.

The 32HS710S has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. FDA, confirming it can now be sold in the U.S. The monitor introduces workflow-enhancing functions, including configurable picture modes for each input source, dedicated hotkeys, and Picture-by-Picture (PBP) layouts for multi-device viewing.

The 4K IPS display delivers consistent color across wide viewing angles, with 800 cd/m² brightness and 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. It is compliant with the DICOM standard, making it suitable for medical imaging from various devices.

Durable glass with Optical Bonding, Anti-Glare, Anti-Reflection, and Anti-Fingerprint coatings ensure clear images under bright surgical lighting. The monitor features an IP45 front rating, IP32 back rating, and IK06 impact resistance, and weighs approximately 9.2 kilograms, allowing versatile mounting on surgical monitor arms.

For operational continuity, the monitor includes a Failover Input Switch to automatically switch to a backup source if the primary signal fails. Additional viewing options include 4-screen PBP, Picture-in-Picture (PIP), Mirror and Rotation Modes, and Clone Screen output for training and collaboration.

YS Lee, head of IT Business at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, said, “By incorporating automated screen settings, one-touch controls, and reliable backup systems, we aim to provide tools that help medical staff focus on patient care.”
