Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), a global cybersecurity, announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Lakera, a AI-native security platform for Agentic AI applications. This acquisition positions Check Point to deliver a full end-to-end AI security stack.

Enterprises are increasingly embedding large language models, generative AI, and autonomous agents into core workflows. This accelerates innovation but also increases risks, including data exposure, model manipulation, and threats from multi-agent collaboration.

Check Point currently protects enterprises through GenAI Protect, SaaS and API security, advanced data loss prevention, and machine learning-powered defenses. With Lakera, the company extends these capabilities, offering one of the first comprehensive AI security stacks in the industry.

“Lakera was purpose-built for the AI era, with real-time runtime security and research at its core,” said David Haber, Co-Founder and CEO at Lakera. “Joining Check Point allows us to accelerate and scale our mission globally. Together we will protect LLMs, generative AI, and agents with the speed, accuracy, and guardrails enterprises need to embrace AI with confidence.”

Lakera was designed for the AI era, providing real-time runtime security and research. Its solutions, Lakera Red and Lakera Guard, offer pre-deployment posture assessments and runtime enforcement for LLMs, AI agents, and multimodal workflows. The platform also leverages Gandalf, adversarial AI networks, to ensure continuous protection against evolving threats.

Key strengths of Lakera include:

  • AI-native protection: Secures LLMs, generative AI, and agents in real time against prompt injection, data leakage, and model manipulation.
  • Proven performance at scale: Delivers detection rates above 98%, latency under 50ms, and false positives below 0.5%.
  • Global coverage and intelligence: Supports 100+ languages and adapts to emerging AI threats using over 80 million adversarial patterns.

Upon closing, Lakera will form the foundation of Check Point’s Global Center of Excellence for AI Security. This will accelerate research, innovation, and integration across the Check Point Infinity Platform, establishing the company as a global leader in securing AI-powered enterprises.
