The UAE Cabinet has approved a comprehensive package of cybersecurity policies and programmes aimed at strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure and enhancing trust in advanced technological systems.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired a Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, along with senior ministers and officials.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid announced the approval of the National Policy for Economic Clusters. The plan aims to boost industries, services, and innovation across the UAE. It is expected to add more than AED 30 billion annually to the national GDP and enhance global competitiveness.

The Cabinet approved the agenda for the UAE Government Annual Meetings, set for November 4-6 in Abu Dhabi, with 500 senior officials participating. Discussions will focus on education, healthcare, economy, and AI applications.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid revealed the formation of the UAE Council for Integrative Medicine, chaired by Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. The council will advance holistic healthcare by integrating modern and traditional medicine.

The Cabinet also reviewed the UAE Genomics Council’s progress, including the premarital medical screening programme and the National Genome Programme, with more than 750,000 participants.

In a key move, the UAE Cabinet approved a comprehensive package of national cybersecurity policies and programmes. The framework aligns with global standards and aims to:

  • Strengthen digital infrastructure and protect against emerging cyber threats
  • Improve system resilience, risk management, and workforce readiness
  • Establish advanced monitoring, prevention, and rapid response mechanisms

The Cabinet approved the third edition of the National Plan for Reducing Aviation Sector Emissions, reaffirming commitment to ICAO agreements. It also reviewed updates to the National Environmental Policy, the Green Agenda 2023, and the National Air Quality Agenda 2031.

Reports highlighted achievements in sustainable agriculture, biodiversity protection, and environmental initiatives such as “Plant the Emirates.”

The meeting also endorsed restructuring several federal councils, including the UAE Digital Economy Council and the UAE Entrepreneurship Council, to strengthen innovation and economic integration.

The Cabinet ratified 76 international agreements covering trade, AI applications, digital transformation, and aviation services. It also approved hosting 12 major international events, including the World Maritime Day 2025 Parallel Event and the International Conference on AI in Sports.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid confirmed that national teams are progressing as planned and performance indicators reflect strong results across all sectors.
