The GSMA and Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT Qatar) announced updates for the inaugural MWC25 Doha during a press briefing at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

As the first MWC event in MENA, MWC Doha forms a key part of Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030. The two-day event will feature debates, innovation showcases, and collaboration opportunities.

  • Over 200 speakers will attend.
  • More than 150 exhibitors are confirmed, including 80% international, with 200 expected at the opening.
  • Attendees will come from over 60 countries, with 40% at director level or above.

The GSMA welcomed Her Excellency Mrs. Reem Mohammed Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary of Digital Industry Affairs at MCIT Qatar, and Mr. Khalid Aljumaily, PR and Communication Director at MCIT Qatar. GSMA CMO Lara Dewar and CEO John Hoffman were also present.

Leading exhibitors include Cisco, Dell, Google Cloud, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Huawei, Mannai, Microsoft, Nokia, Ooredoo, PwC, Qatar University, VEON, Vodafone, ZTE, and Meeza, Qatar’s leading data centre and AI services provider.

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, said hosting MWC25 Doha is a milestone for Qatar and the region. He emphasized its role in advancing digital transformation and positioning Doha as a global tech hub.

The press briefing also saw the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), Qatar University, Media City Qatar, Ooredoo, and Vodafone to support MWC Doha.

Vivek Badrinath, Director General of GSMA, said Doha is the perfect location for the first MWC in the region. He highlighted MENA as one of the world’s most exciting digital markets.

MWC Doha takes place on 25–26 November at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. The event will explore AI, intelligent infrastructure, fintech, mobility, and frontier technologies.

The agenda features AI Nexus, Intelligent Economies, Connected Industries, the regional debut of 4YFN, the GSMA Ministerial Programme, GSMA Digital Leaders Programme, and Smart City Expo Doha.
