GITEX, the world’s largest and best-rated tech and digital investment show brand, announced its entry into Latin America with the launch of GITEX LATAM. The event will take place from 16–17 March 2027 at Distrito Anhembi in São Paulo, Brazil.

Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International in partnership with the São Paulo Development Agency (ADESAMPA), GITEX LATAM marks the region’s first-ever global technology exhibition. The debut aligns with Latin America’s digital market, which is projected to reach almost US$950 billion by 2026, according to PCMI.

Ricardo Nunes, Mayor of São Paulo, revealed that hosting GITEX LATAM would connect local innovators with global opportunities. He said the event will empower startups, unicorns, and enterprises to expand their visibility and forge new partnerships worldwide.

GITEX LATAM aims to position Brazil as a central hub for digital transformation, leveraging the nation’s leadership in innovation and digital infrastructure. Brazil’s ICT market is expected to reach US$259 billion by 2033, while its AI market could hit US$99.8 billion, according to IMARC Group and Grand View Horizon.

Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International, described Brazil as the “vibrant cornerstone” of Latin America’s technology growth. She said GITEX LATAM will unite global innovators, investors, and enterprises to drive collaboration and growth across the region.

• Brazil joins GITEX’s expanding global network of tech events in 2027.
• The platform will connect public and private sectors to drive investment, talent, and innovation.

According to the IMF, Latin America’s developing economies are expected to generate a GDP of US$6.8 trillion in 2025. GITEX LATAM will channel global expertise, capital, and innovation into the region, strengthening its position in the global digital economy.

The event will cover key sectors, including AI, agritech, cloud, cybersecurity, healthtech, data centres, and renewable energy. It will also promote collaboration between startups, policymakers, and investors in São Paulo — ranked as Latin America’s top startup ecosystem by StartupBlink’s 2025 report.

Rodrigo Goulart, Municipal Secretary of Economic Development and Labour of São Paulo, said GITEX LATAM will elevate tech cooperation to new levels and build investor confidence in the region.

The announcement was made during GITEX GLOBAL 2025 in Dubai, where Brazil participated as the official Country Partner with ApexBrasil, showcasing more than 50 startups and innovation hubs. The event also saw participation from Chile and Ecuador for the first time.

The launch follows the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 2024, where the UAE and Brazil reaffirmed their strategic partnership to explore collaboration in AI, renewable energy, and emerging technologies.
