Riverbed, the AIOps for observability and data acceleration, has announced the launch of its new Riverbed AI Data Express Service, designed to accelerate the movement of massive datasets required to prepare and deploy AI models at scale.

The company revealed that the new service can achieve data transfer speeds up to 10 times faster than current industry solutions, improving time-to-value and reducing operational costs.

Enterprises are increasingly challenged with moving tens of petabytes of data distributed across data centers, edge environments, and multiple public clouds. The process of transferring this data to AI-optimized GPU clusters often takes months. Riverbed reported that with the new Data Express Service, what previously took months can now be completed in just days, enabling faster AI deployment and greater efficiency.

Built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), the Riverbed Data Express Service uses post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to securely transfer petabyte-scale datasets through encrypted VPN tunnels. This ensures customer data remains protected during transit. The service also includes enterprise-grade access controls and the option to deploy data mover agents in customer tenants for additional security.

“With today’s announcement, we’re helping customers overcome one of the biggest barriers to AI adoption, getting the right data to the right location with industry-leading speed and security,” said Dave Donatelli, CEO of Riverbed. He added that the company saw 77% year-over-year bookings growth in the first half of the year, highlighting strong demand for its AI-driven solutions.

Riverbed’s Global AI Research 2025, which surveyed 1,200 leaders and technical specialists across seven countries, revealed that 75% of organizations plan to establish an AI Data Repository Strategy. Additionally, nine out of ten respondents rated AI data movement and sharing as critical to their AI initiatives.

Sachin Menon, Vice President of Cloud Engineering at Oracle, said that deploying Riverbed Data Express Service on OCI will help organizations accelerate time-to-value, lower costs, and maintain strong data protection.

Chalan Aras, Senior Vice President and GM of Riverbed’s Acceleration Business, added, “Speed, security, and simplicity are now key to AI success. We’re using over two decades of data movement expertise to shrink transfer timelines and accelerate our customers’ competitive edge in the AI era.”
