Informatica (NYSE: INFA), an AI-powered cloud data management company, has announced a partnership with Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) to modernize its digital infrastructure. The collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency, transparency and sustainability through Informatica’s cloud-based Multidomain Master Data Management (MDM) SaaS platform.

According to Informatica, Emirates Flight Catering selected its MDM SaaS solution to address data fragmentation across product, supplier and customer information. The platform helps create a unified view of data, enabling EKFC to better understand customer needs and deliver more personalized services.

As part of the Emirates Group, Emirates Flight Catering operates with a focus on precision and scale. The company produces more than 225,000 meals daily for over 100 airline customers. Its operations rely on efficient coordination across sourcing, stock management and logistics. Informatica reported that the new cloud MDM solution will support EKFC in managing these processes more effectively.

Tad Nadolny, Vice President of IT Information Systems at Emirates Flight Catering, said that accurate, real-time data is essential to the company’s daily operations. “Partnering with Informatica and adopting their cloud MDM SaaS solution empowers us to build a unified, trusted source of item data accessible across our business and our hundreds of suppliers,” he stated. Nadolny added that the move toward an AI-first and cloud-first model will enhance data governance and supplier collaboration, while improving visibility and supporting sustainability initiatives.

A key part of this digital transformation is the implementation of a supplier self-service portal powered by Informatica’s MDM SaaS platform. This enables EKFC’s network of more than 300 suppliers to use data-governed workflows, improving data accuracy and speeding up procurement cycles.

  • The new system standardizes data onboarding and governance.
  • It enhances collaboration between suppliers and internal teams.
  • It provides the transparency needed to track ESG and sustainability progress.

In the short term, EKFC expects the integration to improve stock control and make production planning more agile. The cloud platform also supports better supply chain visibility, which is vital for managing complex operations.

Looking ahead, Emirates Flight Catering plans to expand its use of Informatica’s AI capabilities. The company aims to predict operational needs, automate processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. EKFC also plans to strengthen its data governance framework through the integration of the Informatica MDM SaaS platform and the EKFC Data Platform.

EKFC already diverts more than 300 tons of recyclable material each month and generates clean energy using an 8,000-panel solar rooftop. Informatica revealed that improved data traceability can further help reduce food waste, optimize procurement and ensure responsible sourcing.

Yasser Shawky, Vice President, Emerging Markets (MEA) at Informatica, said the partnership demonstrates how data-driven innovation can transform large-scale operations. “By enhancing supply chain visibility, governance and sustainability performance, this initiative supports measurable outcomes and smarter decision-making,” Shawky noted.

The collaboration between Informatica and Emirates Flight Catering reflects a shift toward data-centric, AI-enabled operations in aviation catering. Both organizations aim to use trusted data to improve efficiency, governance and environmental responsibility.
