Huawei Digital Power Middle East & Central Asia announced the successful conclusion of its FusionSolar Technical Innovation Summit 2025 in Dubai. The event convened global energy leaders, utilities, regulators, and experts. It also revealed new solutions supporting the next stage of renewable energy integration and regional grid stability.

Officials reported that transitioning to high-renewable energy systems requires stable, resilient, and intelligent grids. Alex Xing, President of Huawei Digital Power Middle East & Central Asia, said grid-forming innovation and high-quality solutions are essential for this evolution. He added that Huawei aims to unify standards and strengthen industry partnerships to address the challenges of high renewable penetration. He also highlighted Huawei’s long-term investments in grid-forming R&D, Smart String Energy Storage Systems, and AI-driven lifecycle optimization for large-scale PV and storage plants.

The summit featured speakers from MESIA, IRENA, EWEC, DNV, HDEC, and Go2Power. They shared insights on market evolution, engineering best practices, grid code compliance, and the financial and safety factors shaping the next phase of renewable deployment. Experts reported that the region is entering a period of high renewable penetration, and grid-forming ESS will play a vital stabilizing role. They emphasized that faster progress depends on deep industry collaboration.

Huawei also released its Smart String Grid-Forming ESS White Paper and a Levelized Cost of Energy Report. These publications provide a technical blueprint for grid-forming storage, benchmark data from global projects, and engineering guidance for renewable integration. The White Paper illustrates key capabilities of Huawei’s Smart String Grid-Forming ESS, including fault ride-through, virtual inertia, frequency control, black start, and seamless grid transitions.
