The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) announced the graduation of the third cohort of the DXB500 Government Communication Training Programme. The ceremony was organised as part of a strategic initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.

The DXB500 programme is designed to strengthen the digital communication capabilities of media and communication officials across government and semi-government entities. It aims to help participants respond effectively to rapid changes in the media and technology landscape while enhancing the impact of government messaging.

GDMO revealed that DXB500 is a key initiative supporting Dubai’s vision to advance government communication through innovation and technology. The programme focuses on improving coordination between entities and leveraging modern communication tools to deliver content aligned with Dubai’s priorities.

Participants received hands-on training in storytelling, multi-platform content creation, campaign development and strategic media engagement. In addition, the programme enhanced skills in audience analysis, message clarity and trust-building in digital communication.

DXB500 also provides a collaborative platform that supports unified messaging, knowledge exchange and consistent representation of government policies and initiatives.

Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and Director General of GDMO, said the programme reflects leadership’s vision to invest in national media talent. She noted that DXB500 represents a strategic investment in strengthening government communication capabilities and supporting effective public policy communication.

She added that digital government media campaigns play a critical role in highlighting Dubai’s achievements locally and globally. She stressed the importance of using diverse digital platforms and innovative tools to deliver creative and impactful messages.

The third edition of DXB500 focused on technology-driven government campaigns that generate positive societal impact. It placed strong emphasis on digital media tools, creative storytelling and innovative communication technologies.

The programme included specialised workshops led by local and international experts, covering:

  • Digital campaign design and execution
  • Strategic communication to counter misinformation
  • Short-form content production for digital platforms

Participants also reviewed successful government campaign case studies from Dubai. These examples highlighted how effective digital communication supports public trust and strengthens the emirate’s global image.

Hend Fekri, Acting Director of Strategic Media Relations at GDMO, said DXB500 plays a core role in strengthening media readiness and coordination among government entities. She reported that the programme enhances media relations practices and improves the quality and accuracy of government news content.

Huda Dahkooni, Manager of the DXB500 Programme, revealed that the third cohort was designed to align with current media and technology developments. She said the programme promotes best practices in digital government communication and audience engagement.

Graduates of DXB500 expressed appreciation for the programme, describing it as a milestone in developing professional skills in government communication, content creation and media storytelling. They reported that the training improved their ability to deliver clear messages and respond professionally to media challenges.
