AD Ports Group announced a new partnership with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar to collaborate on offshore wind projects.

The companies revealed that they have signed a Partnership Agreement to support the development and delivery of global offshore wind initiatives. Under the agreement, AD Ports will work closely with Masdar to identify opportunities where it can act as a key partner and contractor.

Moreover, the parties reported that they will jointly define technical requirements for Masdar’s offshore wind projects. AD Ports will deploy its maritime, technical, and logistics capabilities to support efficient project execution.

Key areas of collaboration include:

  • Fabrication and provision of offshore substations
  • Onshore and offshore logistics solutions
  • Subsea services, maintenance, and operations support

Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO of the Maritime & Shipping Cluster at AD Ports Group, said the company is well positioned to deliver complex technical solutions for large-scale offshore wind projects. He added that the partnership can accelerate the deployment of sustainable and technologically advanced energy solutions.

Meanwhile, Masdar CEO Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi stated that offshore wind is critical to the global clean energy transition. He noted that partnerships such as this enable Masdar to scale its impact and support countries in meeting clean energy targets.

Offshore wind continues to play a key role in global energy transformation. Turbines installed at sea harness stronger and more consistent winds, delivering higher and more reliable energy output. Masdar has already developed and operates major offshore wind projects in Europe, including Germany’s 476MW Baltic Eagle project and the UK’s 1.4GW East Anglia THREE project.

The collaboration aligns with the UAE’s vision for economic diversification and sustainable development. By leveraging advanced maritime infrastructure and integrated logistics, AD Ports and Masdar aim to set new benchmarks for offshore wind deployment.
