Abu Dhabi Police and Space42 have announced a new collaboration focused on smart mobility, aiming to develop smart security and autonomous vehicle systems to support advanced transport solutions in Abu Dhabi.

The two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the Government of Abu Dhabi’s goals of advancing smart mobility and building a safe and sustainable transport ecosystem powered by advanced technologies. The agreement establishes a framework for long-term cooperation in research, development, and innovation within the smart mobility domain.

The MoU was signed by Brigadier Mohammed Dhahi Al Hamiri, Director of the Central Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, and Hasan Al Hosani, Chief Executive Officer at Smart Solutions at Space42, according to the announcement.

Al Hamiri said Abu Dhabi Police will support road safety initiatives and work to reduce traffic incidents through the use of AI and autonomous mobility solutions in police vehicles. In addition, he revealed that the collaboration will focus on upskilling national talent through joint training and field programmes.

He added that the initiative is expected to expand across a wider range of applications within Abu Dhabi’s transport ecosystem, aligning with the vision to develop smart and safer cities.

Meanwhile, Al Hosani stated that the collaboration marks an important step in applying AI and advanced technologies to real-world security and mobility needs. He noted that both parties are working on intelligent solutions to strengthen the security framework for autonomous vehicles and improve safety standards across smart mobility systems.
