AVEVA AI tools have been announced as the latest addition to AVEVA Unified Engineering. The company revealed the first wave of artificial intelligence tools designed to support engineering and design teams. These tools aim to enhance project workflows, optimise design, and streamline onboarding for new staff.

The new suite includes an industrial AI assistant that can interrogate project work and capture product usage knowledge. A generative design AI assistant analyses design requirements and user directives to generate optimised layouts, such as pipe routing for Pre-FEED/FEED stages. This offers significant productivity improvements and time savings.

In addition, a predictive design AI assistant allows users to create bespoke machine learning models without coding. The intelligent point cloud framework automatically reads, imports, and displays point cloud data, enhanced with AI classification from AVEVA Point Cloud Manager.

These tools are ready for immediate use and combine with AVEVA Unified Engineering’s 1D, 2D, and 3D multidiscipline design capabilities. Engineers can leverage them to analyse, solve, and automate project challenges, generating faster and more accurate design options.

Rob McGreevy, chief product officer at AVEVA, reported that the AI tools assist with digital twins, enable real-time collaboration, reduce IT demands, and accelerate project handovers. He added that organisations can capture institutional knowledge and build no-code AI/ML modules, helping them work smarter and future-proof projects.

Peter Reynolds, industry advisor at ARC Advisory Group, said AVEVA’s AI tools mark a step forward in reshaping design engineering for process manufacturers. He noted that AI is improving efficiency, accuracy, and innovation across multiple engineering disciplines.

Key Points:

  • AVEVA AI tools improve project workflows and design efficiency.
  • Generative and predictive AI assistants support design automation.
  • Intelligent point cloud framework enhances data handling and analysis.
