The Mobile Cardiac Hospital, a joint Egyptian-Emirati initiative for interventional cardiac procedures, arrived in Cairo on Tuesday. The programme aims to improve cardiac care outcomes, expand access to advanced healthcare services, and strengthen medical cooperation between Egypt and the UAE.

The mobile hospital is the first of its kind. It is designed to deliver specialised cardiac diagnosis, treatment, and surgical services. Notably, it targets areas located far from major urban centres.

The facility is equipped with advanced field units. These units support diagnosis, treatment, and surgical interventions. In addition, the hospital integrates the latest medical technologies and AI in healthcare to enhance accuracy, speed, and patient outcomes.

The initiative is a joint effort. It involves Egypt’s Ministry of Health, Emirati doctors, Dar Al Ber Society, and Sharjah Charity International. The programme operates under the supervision of a joint Egyptian Emirati team of interventional cardiac surgeons.

Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, highlighted the significance of the programme. He said it reflects the depth of bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE. He added that the initiative aims to set new benchmarks for cardiac care in the region. Moreover, it aligns with national goals focused on innovation and world class healthcare delivery.

Meanwhile, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained the programme’s objectives. He said it focuses on early diagnosis, advanced treatment methodologies, and capacity building for medical professionals.

He further noted that the initiative leverages technologies provided by General Electric. Additionally, it is supported by Dar Al Ber Society and Sharjah Charity International. Together, these efforts address the growing burden of cardiovascular diseases.

At the same time, Dr Adel Al Shamry Al Ajmi, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative and Director General of the National Training (Jaheziya) Programme, commented on the launch. He said the mobile hospital reflects the strong health cooperation between Egypt and the UAE.

He added that the programme includes specialised training components. These are designed to enhance medical readiness and improve the management of emergency cardiac cases. Importantly, the training follows a unified and internationally accredited approach, further strengthening the role of AI in healthcare delivery.
