His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, visited the media centre and the operations and cybersecurity centre at the World Governments Summit 2026 in Dubai. The summit commenced today and will run until 5 February under the theme “Shaping Future Governments.” He was accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed announced the importance of integrating media and cybersecurity to strengthen government operations. He reported that media plays a strategic role in delivering accurate messaging and raising awareness. He further revealed that cybersecurity remains a primary line of defence to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.

He also stated that these functions are supported by teams that drive action and achievement. Moreover, he explained that this integrated system builds trust, secures milestones, and creates a positive and lasting impact. He added that media has evolved beyond reporting events and is now driving impact, while cybersecurity continues to protect the digital environment.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed was also accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, and H.H. Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Additionally, Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit, attended the visit along with several senior officials.

The summit reported extensive global media participation. More than 840 international, regional, and local media outlets are covering the event, alongside over 44 media partners. Furthermore, the event revealed record participation in government discussions and global collaboration.

Key participation highlights include:

  • More than 60 heads of state and government and their deputies attending
  • Over 500 ministers and representatives from more than 150 governments participating
  • More than 6,250 participants, including experts and policy specialists

The World Governments Summit 2026 continues to focus on government innovation, digital security, and global cooperation. Meanwhile, discussions are expected to address emerging technologies and governance strategies shaping the future of public sector operations.
