Sharjah Digital announced that Sharjah Government processed more than 2.8 million digital transactions in 2025. The figure marks an increase of nearly 50 percent compared to the previous year. The milestone reflects accelerated progress toward a fully digital government.

The announcement was made in the presence of Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director-General of the Sharjah Digital Department. The update was shared during the Sharjah Digital Integration Forum held at the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club.

In addition, government entities exchanged over 30 million pieces of real-time data. This development highlights strong interconnectivity across departments. It also supports faster information-sharing to enhance public services.

Moreover, more than 25,000 government employees completed advanced digital training programmes. These initiatives aim to strengthen technology adoption across entities. At the same time, over 65 percent of central government departments are now connected to a unified network. This connection supports a more coordinated and efficient government system.

During his opening remarks, Sheikh Saud said digital integration marks a shift from discussing digital transformation to embedding it as a sustainable government approach in Sharjah. He added that the next phase will focus on aligning departmental goals and efforts. The objective is to deliver greater public benefit and build a more responsive government.

He described the previous phase as challenging but essential. According to him, meaningful success cannot be achieved by a single entity. Instead, it requires a unified system that treats digital transformation as a shared responsibility. He also expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of government entities and their positive impact on service delivery and user experience.

Furthermore, Sheikh Saud outlined six key priorities for the next stage. The first priority is to unify the strategic vision for digital transformation across Sharjah Government. This step is expected to accelerate results and enhance service experience.

He also stressed the importance of developing a shared digital infrastructure. This includes government cloud systems, networks, and cybersecurity frameworks. He noted that data is the language of digital integration. Therefore, it requires robust platforms and clear standards for exchange between entities.

The forum featured a panel discussion titled “Digital Integration: One System, Multiplier Effect.” The session highlighted the value of linking digital services. It also presented national success stories in service enhancement.

Meanwhile, the department unveiled its 2026 plans. These plans cover cybersecurity, digital services, data governance, and technology infrastructure. The roadmap signals a shift from planning to implementation.

In addition, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre. The agreement focuses on geographic information systems. It aims to support knowledge exchange, capacity-building, and accelerate the emirate’s digital objectives.

Overall, Sharjah Digital continues to advance integrated services, strengthen cybersecurity, and expand digital infrastructure as it moves closer to a fully connected and responsive government model.
