Sharjah Digital cooperation has expanded after Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sharjah Digital Department to enhance collaboration in Geographic Information Systems. The move reinforces a shared commitment to using geospatial technologies to support integration and strategic priorities.

Under the agreement, both organisations will develop a dedicated GIS dashboard. They will also deliver specialised training programmes for teams from both sides. In addition, the partnership will focus on capacity building and the creation of digital solutions that support more informed, data-driven decision-making.

Moreover, the collaboration will include joint work on geospatial data and aerial imagery. This effort is expected to strengthen institutional capabilities. As a result, it will contribute to the delivery of efficient and innovative digital services that benefit the wider community.

Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director-General of Sharjah Digital Department, said the agreement marks a significant step in strengthening capabilities in geospatial data and geographic information systems by leveraging the advanced expertise and technologies of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre. He added that it reflects a commitment to collaboration with local and federal government entities and aligns with a vision of building an integrated digital government ecosystem that uses data and emerging technologies to deliver proactive services with a tangible impact on individuals and the wider community in Sharjah.

Meanwhile, Salem Humaid AlMarri, Director-General of MBRSC, said the agreement reflects a commitment to harness advanced space and geospatial technologies in support of integrated government systems and sustainable development. He noted that cooperation with the Sharjah Digital Department enables effective use of high-resolution satellite data and GIS solutions to support informed decision-making and deliver tangible value to the community through Sharjah Digital.
