Huawei showcased a series of network innovations at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2026. Huawei highlighted advancements spanning 5G-Advanced infrastructure, AI-native network architecture, and intelligent service capabilities. The company outlined how telecom operators can evolve networks to support AI-driven economies.

As artificial intelligence becomes embedded across industries, telecom networks are witnessing rapid growth in traffic, device density, and service complexity. In response, Huawei’s latest announcements focus on expanding capacity, automating operations, and enabling new intelligent services. At the same time, the company is preparing the technological foundation for future 6G evolution.

During the event, Huawei introduced a comprehensive U6GHz portfolio to expand 5G-Advanced network performance. The solutions leverage wider bandwidth and improved coverage to enhance connectivity. The U6GHz band is emerging as a key enabler of next-generation mobile networks. Countries including China, the UAE, Brazil, and several European markets are advancing spectrum identification, allocation, and testing. These efforts are aimed at supporting long-term network evolution.

Moreover, the new solutions address rising uplink demand generated by AI applications, immersive services, and cloud-based collaboration. They are designed to help operators deliver consistent performance in dense urban environments. They also support the gradual evolution of spectrum toward 6G.

In addition, Huawei unveiled a new generation of mobile transport solutions. These are built to manage the expected surge in data traffic driven by intelligent applications. The upgrades introduce energy-efficient ultra-broadband capabilities. They also feature automated congestion detection and enhanced network autonomy. As a result, operators can optimize efficiency and adapt to evolving service scenarios as networks move from 5G to 5G-A and eventually 6G.

Furthermore, Huawei presented its Agentic Core solution, which embeds intelligence directly into the network layer. The solution leverages three engines: NE Intelligence, Network Intelligence, and Service Intelligence. Together, they address challenges such as sharp traffic growth, differentiated network requirements, and new service monetization models. The system aims to provide 7×24-hour inclusive intelligent connectivity. This approach is intended to deliver a more efficient, convenient, and intelligent digital experience.

To support the shift to the mobile AI era, Huawei also introduced what it described as the industry’s first AI-Native framework for intelligent operations. The framework was developed in collaboration with global operators. It consists of three core elements: Outcome Oriented, DTN and Domain Model Driven, and Agentic Operations. By building digital twins and domain models tailored to the telecom industry, the framework addresses challenges that traditional methods could not solve. It also enables collaboration between human experts and digital employees. According to the company, this establishes new paradigms to unleash AI-driven “New Quality Productive Forces” and achieve broader intelligence transformation.

Beyond connectivity, Huawei proposed a mobile broadband service intelligence approach. The strategy is designed to help operators evolve from connectivity providers into intelligent service platforms. By integrating AI capabilities directly into network infrastructure, operators can enable personalized digital experiences, immersive communication environments, and proactive services aligned with user intent.

Collectively, the announcements signal how 5G-Advanced infrastructure, autonomous operations, and intelligent services are converging to support the next phase of digital transformation. In markets such as GCC countries, where AI adoption and smart infrastructure initiatives are accelerating, advanced networks are seen as critical national infrastructure. Through these initiatives, Huawei is positioning its technologies to support economic growth and the transition toward the 6G era.
