Huawei 5G innovations took center stage at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2026, where the company unveiled a landmark set of AI-driven network solutions and outlined its strategic vision for 5G-Advanced (5G-A) connectivity. The announcements reinforced Huawei’s role in accelerating global digital transformation, particularly across the Middle East.

The company introduced its latest AI-Centric Network solutions, an expanded U6 GHz 5G-A portfolio, and a call for holistic ecosystem collaboration. Together, these initiatives aim to prepare carriers for the emerging agentic Internet era.

This year, Huawei’s booth theme was “Advancing All Intelligence.” The theme reflects the company’s plans to build AI-centric networks and computing backbones. These are designed to help carriers and industry customers capture new opportunities in the AI era.

Li Peng, Senior Vice President and President of Huawei ICT Sales & Service, said networks are transitioning from basic connectivity platforms to intelligent service engines. He noted that these networks will support “hundreds of billions of agents,” with 5G-A and AI at the core. He emphasized the need for value creation beyond connectivity, highlighting AI-enabled services such as real-time transcription, translation, and context-aware networking. Moreover, he proposed a “5G-A x AI” model to help carriers move beyond traffic monetization and become comprehensive AI service providers.

Meanwhile, Yang Chaobin, President of Huawei ICT Products & Solutions Business Group, addressed advancements in uplink and downlink capabilities, autonomous operations, and inclusive connectivity. These priorities align closely with the Middle East’s digital agenda. Across the region, telecom regulators and operators are investing in 5G-A and AI-ready infrastructure to support smart cities, digital economic growth, and next-generation industry sectors including smart manufacturing and autonomous systems.

Independent regional reports estimate that more than one million 5G-A users are active in the Middle East. Commercial deployments are accelerating as operators leverage advanced spectrum bands to enhance user experience and network capacity. In response, Huawei launched its Agentic MBB (Mobile Broadband) solutions. These include the industry’s first RAN Agent, designed to align network resources with users and services in real time.

At the core of Huawei’s showcase was its AI-Centric Network framework. The framework embeds intelligence at the service, network, and network-element layers. As a result, operators can scale automated operations, improve service quality, and unlock new monetization opportunities in AI-intensive scenarios. The framework also supports multi-agent collaboration platforms, enabling services such as AI-enhanced calling and intelligent broadband for both consumers and enterprises.

In addition, Huawei highlighted its SuperPoD computing clusters for the first time outside China. These clusters address growing demand for high-performance, low-latency computing infrastructure. They are built to support trillion-parameter AI models and autonomous network functions. Consequently, they provide a resilient computing foundation as carriers transition toward the internet of agents.

Huawei also expanded its U6 GHz product portfolio. The portfolio includes macro base stations, small cells, and advanced microwave transport solutions. These technologies deliver high capacity, wide coverage, and low latency. Therefore, they support immersive AI services and future-ready 5G-A networks. The U6 GHz band is increasingly recognized as a key enabler of 5G-A, with active spectrum planning underway in China, the UAE, Brazil, and across Europe.

In the UAE and the wider Middle East, operators continue to advance 5G-A deployments and ecosystem development. Earlier collaborations between Huawei and regional carriers demonstrate this momentum. For example, UAE operator du launched a 5G-A “Future Home” demonstration project, showcasing how advanced connectivity is being trialed and commercialized locally.

MWC Barcelona 2026 will take place from March 2 to March 5 in Barcelona, Spain. During the event, Huawei will showcase its latest products and solutions at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1. Overall, Huawei 5G developments at MWC 2026 highlight the company’s continued focus on intelligent networks, AI integration, and future-ready connectivity for global and regional markets.
