du, the telecom and digital services provider, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei to accelerate 5G-A (5G+) Phase-2 technology. The du Huawei partnership aims to deliver 10Gbps-class connectivity across the UAE.

The collaboration will transform du’s wireless network to support ultra-broadband capabilities. Customers can expect peak rates of 10Gbps in both indoor and outdoor environments. Central to the plan is U6G technology, enabling ultra-large bandwidth aggregation and next-generation digital experiences.

Saleem AlBlooshi, Chief Technology Officer at du, said the partnership will enhance customer experience and unlock new growth opportunities. He added that it will support autonomous mobility, the low-altitude economy, and differentiated service innovation.

du will deploy advanced indoor digitalization systems combining TDD 3CC capabilities with U6G. Premium 10Gbps experience zones will be established in airports, shopping centers, hotels, exhibition facilities, and landmark venues. This ensures consistent performance whether indoors or outdoors.

The enhanced network will enable innovative monetization strategies. Customers can access tiered packages, including speed-based service levels, premium experience plans, and enhanced uplink solutions. The partnership will also explore emerging markets for autonomous mobility and robotaxi services, which demand high bandwidth, minimal latency, and real-time reliability.
