e& UAE, the flagship telecom arm of global technology group e&, and TM Forum have announced the launch of a landmark whitepaper titled “Building a Future-Ready Ecosystem: e& UAE’s Adoption of TM Forum Open Digital Architecture.”

The announcement highlights how e& UAE has successfully operationalised TM Forum’s Open Digital Architecture (ODA). In addition, the company has achieved the prestigious Running on ODA (RoODA) status. This recognition confirms that Open Digital Architecture is deployed and operating in live production environments.

The whitepaper outlines how e& UAE transformed its technology landscape. It shifted from legacy monolithic systems to a modular, cloud-native, API-first digital platform. Furthermore, the company is the first operator in the UAE to achieve RoODA recognition. It also leads in the Middle East in TM Forum Open API certifications, with more than 30 certified APIs implemented across live production systems.

These implementations include CAMARA-aligned API exposure and Network-as-a-Service (NaaS). As a result, partner onboarding is faster and new revenue models are enabled. The publication demonstrates that standardised architecture, Open APIs, DevSecOps practices, and ODA Canvas deployment models are embedded in real operational systems. This is presented as enterprise-scale execution rather than theoretical alignment.

Marwan Bin Shakar, Chief Technology Officer at e& UAE, stated that Running on ODA validates the company’s transition from point-to-point integrations to a modular, API-first platform. He added that this enables faster partner onboarding, secure exposure of network capabilities through APIs and NaaS, and quicker service launches. He also noted that this foundation keeps e& UAE AI-ready while delivering value to customers and partners. In addition, he highlighted that over 30 certified Open APIs position the company as a benchmark for API-driven innovation in the region.

George Glass, Chief Technology Officer at TM Forum, said the achievement demonstrates true operationalisation of Open Digital Architecture. He explained that Running on ODA status confirms the embedding of open standards, modular components, and API-first principles into live environments at scale. Moreover, he noted that e& UAE’s leadership in Open API certification and ecosystem integration sets an example for the region and supports the industry’s move toward composable, cloud-native digital platforms.

The whitepaper details several key elements of the transformation journey. These include modularisation of OSS/BSS into reusable ODA components, certification of more than 30 unique TM Forum Open APIs, deployment of cloud-native microservices across hyperscaler environments, and implementation of event-driven integration with API-first governance. It also references participation in TM Forum Catalyst programs, including recognition with two Moonshot Catalyst Awards.

By operationalising ODA across engagement, commerce, service orchestration, and integration layers, e& UAE has built a composable and interoperable ecosystem. This enables faster time-to-market for digital services, reduced integration complexity, and lower vendor lock-in. It also supports secure monetisation of network capabilities through APIs and provides a scalable, AI-ready architecture for future innovation.

This milestone positions e& UAE as a digital architecture leader in the Middle East and a contributor to global industry standards.
