SEWA has announced new mechanisms to implement a water conservation initiative for citizens’ homes across the Emirate of Sharjah.

The initiative aligns with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. It aims to install more than 750,000 water-saving devices in over 45,000 homes across various cities and regions in the emirate.

Moreover, Majid Haremel Al Shamsi, Executive Director of Corporate Support at the authority, said the initiative seeks to enhance environmental sustainability. It also promotes a culture of responsible resource consumption.

He added that the move builds on the success of a previous home conservation initiative. That program targeted a specific segment of society in Sharjah, including beneficiaries of the inflation allowance. Furthermore, he explained that the implementation mechanisms include eight main points.

In addition, Rashid Al Marzouqi, Director of Media and Communication at the authority, highlighted the broader impact of the initiative. He said it reflects the authority’s commitment to preserving water resources and expanding the number of beneficiaries. It also aims to reduce utility bills through modern water-saving technologies.

Overall, the initiative reinforces SEWA’s ongoing efforts to support sustainability goals, improve efficiency, and encourage responsible water use across Sharjah.
