Dubai Police has organised a specialised virtual Future Dialogue on deepfake technologies. The session was led by the Future Foresight Centre. It focused on implications for policing, forensic science, and digital investigations.

The session brought together officers and non-commissioned officers from relevant departments. It aimed to strengthen institutional preparedness. It also enhanced specialised knowledge in advanced digital domains.

Moreover, Dr Brigadier Hamdan Al Ghassia, Director of the Future Foresight Centre, highlighted the importance of the initiative. He stated that the dialogue supports efforts to integrate scientific advancements into policing. He also emphasised building national capabilities to address evolving digital threats.

In addition, the discussion examined the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence technologies. It highlighted the growing impact of deepfake tools. These tools can generate highly realistic audio and visual content. This raises concerns for forensic analysis and evidentiary reliability.

Furthermore, participants reviewed key indicators and recent trends at local and international levels. They noted a rise in cybercrimes linked to synthetic media and digital manipulation.

The session also analysed emerging crime patterns related to deepfake technologies. These include identity impersonation and manipulation of multimedia content. It explored advanced detection methods and evaluated their effectiveness against evolving AI tools.
