Meta has introduced the improved Meta Account, a simpler and centralized way to sign in and manage Meta apps and devices. The Meta Account brings Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Messenger, Meta AI, AI glasses, and Meta Quest headsets into one unified system for access and account management. This update builds on Accounts Center and aims to streamline user experience across Meta technologies.

More people are using Meta platforms than ever before. Over the years, the company has launched multiple apps and devices that now play a central role in how people connect, create, and communicate. Therefore, Meta says a single access point has become essential for managing digital experiences efficiently.

According to the company, Accounts Center will automatically transition into the Meta Account over the next year. The rollout will be gradual. Users will be notified once their apps and devices are moved into the new system. Importantly, the everyday experience across apps will remain unchanged.

All connected technologies in Accounts Center will automatically appear in the Meta Account. However, WhatsApp integration is optional. If WhatsApp was previously added to Accounts Center, it will carry over to the Meta Account and can be removed at any time. If it was not added earlier, it will remain separate. Meta also confirmed that WhatsApp messages and calls remain private and end-to-end encrypted.

The Meta Account is designed to simplify login across services. Users can optionally set up a single password for all apps and devices. This removes the need to remember multiple passwords. In addition, new apps and devices will allow faster setup without creating separate logins or profiles.

Security has also been enhanced. Passkeys are now supported as a more secure login method. Users can sign in using fingerprint, face recognition, or device password. Passkeys will now work on Instagram as well, in addition to Facebook and Messenger, with more apps to follow. WhatsApp passkeys will continue to be managed separately within the app.

Moreover, Meta has added 24/7 account protection systems. These systems detect and prevent suspicious activity in real time. Alongside this, Security Checkup provides personalized recommendations, including multi-factor authentication and login alerts across Meta platforms.

The Meta Account also centralizes key settings. Users can manage password, two-factor authentication, and email address in one place. However, app-specific settings will remain unchanged. For example, Facebook post visibility will still be controlled within Facebook, while Instagram tagging settings will remain inside Instagram.

For families, the Meta Account improves supervision tools. Parents can manage teen accounts across Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and Meta Horizon through Family Center. This dashboard brings supervision controls into a single interface for easier management.

Meta stated that users will not lose control over privacy or settings. They can choose how their accounts are structured and whether to link multiple apps or keep them separate. The system is designed to provide flexibility while improving convenience and security.

In addition, Meta confirmed that existing Meta Accounts used for Quest and AI glasses will be upgraded. These accounts will now extend across more apps and services, improving integration and access.

Overall, Meta says the goal is to make account management simpler and safer across its ecosystem. The company plans to add more features over time as part of this rollout of Meta Account.
